A monument for the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kamal Ataturk, was unveiled in Baku

A monument for the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was inaugurated in the park, at the intersection of Samad Vurgun and Bakikhanov streets, in Nasimi district of Baku. President Ilham Ailyev, his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and his spouse Amina Erdogan attended the unveiling ceremony.

A ceremonial guard of honor was lined up for the ceremony in the park, decorated with Azerbaijani and Turkish state flags.

State and government officials, MPs, scholars, community members welcomed President Ilham Aliyev, his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and his spouse Amina Erdogan.

President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivered speeches at the event.

Azerbaijani President and Turkish Prime Minister unveiled the monument and put a wreath at its foot.

President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan had their photos taken together with their spouses in front of the monument to the great son of the Turkish world, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
