President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of Mazimcay customs-checkpoint in
Balakan region.

President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening and toured the new
customs-checkpoint, built to modern standards.

A bust to national leader Heydar Aliyev is erected at the foyer of the administrative building of
the checkpoint. A special photo exhibition, featuring Heydar Aliyev’s life and his contributions
to development of customs, is created in the building.

While checking the 100-seat conference hall on the second floor of the building, President Ilham
Aliyev was also introduced to the automated management system of the operation center on fight
against smuggling.

The President was briefed on equipments, checking the conformity of imported automobiles
with “Euro-2” standards, legalization of import-export operations, registration of goods-transport
means, as well as, automated information system of customs services.

President Ilham Ailyev also inspected the special waiting room for the guests. It was noted that
renovation works had been conducted in the area of the terminal and greenery works had been
carried out.

Having toured the customs-checkpoint, President Ilham Aliyev gave his instructions and
suggestions.
