As part of a visit to Guba, President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of an unspecified internal troops unit in Guba.
Minister of Internal Affairs Col-Gen Ramil Usubov reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Ilham Aliyev.
The head of state reviewed a model of the military camp.
It was indicated that important work to improve the logistics of the Internal Troops was currently under way. A good example of this are the conditions created at an unspecified military camp in the Ashagi Atuc village of Guba District. Covering an area of 20 hectares, the camp, the construction of which began in March 2010, includes a five-storey building of headquarters, soldier barracks and a six-storey officer barracks for 60 apartments.
The camp has a soldier canteen, a medical station, ammunition and property depots, a car park, parade grounds and a rostrum, a 10.4-kilovolt transformer substation, two artesian wells, two water reservoirs with a capacity of 300 tons each, waste water storage and an observation tower. All the buildings are equipped with the necessary engineering and communication systems. The area of 17 hectares has been landscaped, trees planted and a modern lighting installed.
It was noted that elements of national architecture were used in the construction of buildings in the camp. In order to ensure continuous electricity and natural gas supply to the camp, 11.6 km aerial transmission lines Atuc-1 and Atuc-2 and a 2.5 km gas pipeline have been laid.
Then the President examined conditions at the camp. In the lobby of the headquarters there is a photo stand reflecting the care and attention of great leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to the development of the Armed Forces and the Internal Troops, and plaques bearing state attributes. The first floor, which houses various administrative offices, also displays instructions on stepping up combat activity.
While reviewing other floors, President Ilham Aliyev visited soldier barracks. It was brought to the President’s attention that soldiers’ clothes were kept in necessary conditions in the property room. There is a separate room for ammunition. The building also has a room for sociopolitical and cultural-educational work to improve soldiers’ knowledge and skills.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces watched a presentation of the weaponry, hardware and special assets of a special-purpose detachment of the Internal Troops.
President Ilham Aliyev was presented with headgear of the special-purpose detachment of the Internal Troops.
The head of state also examined the canteen and was informed that strict control is exercised over the quality of nutrition of soldiers and officers. The medical station is also provided with necessary equipment. It has a physiotherapy room, an outpatient waiting room, a pharmacy and a dental office, all meeting contemporary requirements.
After reviewing the military camp, President Ilham Aliyev gave his instructions and recommendations.
