Greek President Karolos Papoulias visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation

Greek President Karolos Papoulias has visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The Greek President was welcomed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva.

President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva informed the distinguished guest of the objectives and activities of the Foundation which was established as a sign of respect for the memory of the nationwide leader of the Azerbaijani people.

It was indicated that the Foundation studies and promotes the vast heritage of the nationwide leader by implementing various socioeconomic and humanitarian projects, facilitating Azerbaijan’s progress, developing its culture and studying its history.

The President of Greece reviewed the pictures from the personal archive of the great leader dating back to different periods of his activity, as well as various exponents.

During familiarization with the Foundation, the President of Greece was informed that the period when the great leader was in power has been one of the most glorious pages in Azerbaijani history. The socioeconomic development and the successes seen by the international community as unparalleled achievements of our country today are the result of nationwide leader’s efforts.

The distinguished guest examined the numerous documents reflecting most different moments of the phenomenal leader’s life and creating a broad impression of a whole period in Azerbaijani history. The Greek President also reviewed the gifts Heydar Aliyev received from well-known politicians of the world, books dedicated to the great leader, statements by authoritative scientists, people of culture and arts about the founder of the modern Azerbaijani state. He keenly reviewed the photos made during Heydar Aliyev’s meetings with leaders of different countries.

After familiarization with the Foundation, President Karolos Papoulias left a note in the Book of Distinguished Guests.

The President of tha Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva, presented the Greek President with a gift.
