Ilham Aliyev telephoned Russian President Vladimir Putin

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made a telephone call to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

During the conversation, the presidents expressed their satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation in all areas, and expressed their confidence that the strategic ties would continue strengthening.

Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin discussed the bilateral trade and economic cooperation and the issues on the international agenda.

The heads of state also exchanged views over the settlement of the Syrian problem, and stressed the importance of the implementation of the Russia-US join statement on the cessation of military operations in Syria.

The presidents agreed to maintain their contact.
