President Ilham Aliyev received President of the Republic of Tatarstasn of the Russian Federation, Rustam Minnikhanov.
The President highly appreciated visit of Tatarstan President’s to Azerbaijan as one of his first visits after being elected to such a high-level post. Having emphasized the ongoing successful development of bilateral relations in various fields between Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, the President said he hoped new directions of cooperation would be determined during the visit of President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. President also expressed confidence that the visit would contribute to broadening of bilateral ties and mutual activities in numerous directions.

Expressing satisfaction over his visit to Azerbaijan and the chance to meet with President Ilham Aliyev, Rustam Minnikhanov said the close relations, which had always existed between former President of Tatarstan Republic Mintimer Shaymiyev and national leader Heydar Aliyev, formed a solid foundation for development of cooperation.
