His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan,

On the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, it is a most welcome opportunity for me to extend to Your Excellency, on behalf of the Swiss Federal Council and in my own name, my sincere congratulations and my best wishes for your personal health as well as for the wellbeing and the prosperity of your country. Let me reiterate that Switzerland is very much committed to the further development of its friendly relations with Azerbaijan in the political, economic and cultural fields.
In this regard, I am looking forward to visiting Azerbaijan on 2 June 2014 in my capacity as the Chairperson-in-Office of the OSCE and as the President of the Confederation and to meeting you this time in Baku which will further intensify and deepen the friendly bonds created between our two countries.
