Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation headed by the Governor of Astrakhan Region of Russia

President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation headed by the Governor of Astrakhan Region of Russia Aleksandr Zhilkin.

Astrakhan Region Governor Aleksandr Zhilkin congratulated the head of state on his re-election as President. He noted with satisfaction that he has witnessed rapid development in our country over the past period. Touching upon cooperation between Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation and the Azerbaijan Republic, Aleksandr Zhilkin said that in recent years the trade turnover has increased by 4 times and expressed the hope that it will grow even more in the next few years.

The head of state stressed that bilateral relations between the Azerbaijan Republic and the Russian Federation are developing successfully in various fields, including in all areas of cooperation between our country and some regions of Russia, and praised the contribution made by Aleksandr Zhilkin to the strengthening of these ties. President Ilham Aliyev noted the importance of mutual visits for enhancing friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation. Referring to jointly implemented projects, the head of state assessed the Astrakhan-Baku park to be commissioned in our capital as a good example of our friendship. President Ilham Aliyev noted that for his special contribution to the development of economic and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, Aleksandr Zhilkin was decorated with the Azerbaijani Dostlug Order and presented him with the Order.

The Governor of Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Zhilkin thanked President Ilham Aliyev for decorating him with one of the highest orders of Azerbaijan – the Dostlug Order.
