Ilham Aliyev reviewed a newly reconstructed building of the passenger terminal of the Horadiz Railway Station

President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed a building of the passenger terminal in the Horadiz Railway Station after major overhaul.

The head of state examined a photo stand reflecting the previous appearance of the station.

The Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov informed President Ilham Aliyev that the building had been totally reconstructed in the modern architectural style. The territory surrounding the Railway Station was landscaped and planted with ornamental trees. Necessary conditions had been created here for the passengers. 

It was noted that being on the balance of the "Azerbaijan Demir Yollari" CJSC, the passenger terminal of the Horadiz station was built in 1958. The building had not been renovated for a long time. The two-storey building covering an area of 1,000 square meters has photo stands reflecting the activities of great leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev. The overhaul and reconstruction have been carried out in three months by the construction department of railways and technical facilities of the CJSC. The electrical system of the terminal has been renewed and the conditions for passengers in the waiting area improved. There is a mother and child room, an assembly hall and a cafeteria here. The building is fitted with new equipment, there are baggage rooms and a medical station in the building. The control room has the necessary conditions for quality service.

It was noted that there were fully equipped offices and a modern conference room on the second floor. The building’s engineering and communication systems meet the highest standards.

It was indicated that the reconstruction of the passenger terminal of the Horadiz station was part of the work on the development of the rail transport infrastructure.

Ticket offices are located on the first floor of the building. The ticket sales technology has been improved. To regularly inform passengers of the occupancy of trains, a modern display is available. Using a touch-screen display, passengers can access the section of online ticket sales on the web server at any time of the day and obtain information about the train schedule, etc. Since 1 November, the sale of tickets at the passenger terminal of the Horadiz station has been automated and connected to the Internet. This system already covers 48 passenger stations of the Azerbaijan railways. Passengers can book and purchase tickets to all destinations on line.

The President expressed his satisfaction with the work done at the passenger terminal of the Horadiz station.
