Official lunch was offered in honor of Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on behalf of Viktor Yanukovich, the President of Ukraine in Kiev.

Welcoming once again the delegation of Azerbaijan headed by President Ilham Aliyev to Ukraine, President Viktor Yanukovych noted that the current level of ever developing relations between our countries causes optimism. Stressing that the foundations of this fruitful co-operation were laid down by national leader Heydar Aliyev, Viktor Yanukovych stated that the people of Ukraine will cherish always the memory of this great man and remember his support extended to the Ukrainian economy in the days of hardship. Noting the successful continuation of this course by President Ilham Aliyev, head of Ukrainian state noted that each step made towards the development of co-operation between our countries will continue to serve to the prosperity of our peoples.
Expressing his gratitude to Viktor Yanukovych for sincere welcome and hospitality extended on beautiful Ukrainian soil, President Ilham Aliyev stressed his confidence that this visit will remain as one of the most important steps made for the development of integration and co-operation in the history of relations between our countries.
As our relations will broaden, so will be the scope of issues discussed by us and new fields will be added for the development of our ties. For this reason, there is a political will of heads of state. We pay confidence to each other and this is very important for relationship of any country.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked President Viktor Yanukovich and the leadership of Kiev city for the decision assigning the name of great leader Heydar Aliyev to one of parks in the Ukrainian capital. Head of state declared that he remains satisfied with discussions held in the framework of visit.
