Ilham Aliyev visited the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in Nakhchivan city

President Ilham Aliyev laid flowers at the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev erected in the city center of Nakhchivan.

Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, having endured the difficulties of blockade with fortitude for a long time, is well known for its dynamic development and progress in our days. It is not surprising that, successful social-economic development is observed in Nakhchivan, just like in the rest of the country. Reforms realized systematically in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, that holds a special place in ensuring economic achievements of Azerbaijan, have strengthened overall economic activeness and increased investment attraction significantly. 

In first 8 months of 2010, the GDP of the autonomous republic has increased 25.5 percent compared to the previous year reaching above 772 million AZM. Reforms carried out in industrial field resulted in production of goods worth more than 213 million AZM in first 8 months of the current year. During this period, approximately 300 various facilities, more than 10 administrative buildings were built for utilization in the republic and development of agriculture was kept under attention. In the current year, the area of the plowed lands increased 362 hectares compared to the previous period. 

During the 8 months of the current year, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has carried out foreign trade operations worth more than 125.5 million USD. Construction and renovation process of education, health and cultural facilities continue dynamically.

Projects realized in this field with support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, is a real contribution to the educational and healthcare reforms carried out in the autonomous republic.
