President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva have reviewed progress of construction of underground parking, park, garden and a fountain complex on an area between Fizuli and Mirzaga Aliyev Streets of Baku.

The construction of a modern park complex above the underground parking on the area between Fizuli and Mirzaga Aliyev Streets is highly important to further renewing the appearance of the city and facilitating the recreation of the city residents.

In accordance with the instructions of the head of state, consistent work has been carried out to improve and modernize the infrastructure of Baku. Parks and alleys of the capital are being reconstructed and landscaped and new recreation areas put in place.

The President of Azerbaijan keeps the construction of the complex under control and regularly enquires about the progress of work.

First, the President visited the underground parking lot driving the car himself. In terms of its capacity, this car park is one of the largest in the world.

From the underground parking President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva went to the above-ground park complex.

The new park under construction is to be the biggest in Baku. Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov informed President Ilham Aliyev about the draft park complex.

It was noted that the park covers an area of 7 hectares and that granite slabs would be laid over an area of 29,000 square meters. So far, granite slabs have been laid over an area of 20,000 square meters. An area of 6,000 square meters will be asphalted. An area of 35,000 square meters will be landscaped. A total of 35,000 cubic meters of fertile land has been brought to the site. About 2,000 trees, almost 10,000 ornamental bushes, a large number of flowers will be planted and the whole area covered with a lawn. The park will have five modern fountains with a separate station. The green areas will be irrigated by an automatic system. The park complex will have a new substation and be equipped with a state-of-the-art lighting system. The park will also operate three outdoor cafés. The surrounding buildings and the adjoining area will be landscaped. 

The head of state gave relevant instructions relating to the construction of the park complex between Fizuli and Mirzaga Aliyev Streets.
