Ilham Aliyev attended the groundbreaking ceremony of a urea plant in Sumgayit

As part of a visit to Sumgayit, President Ilham Aliyev has attended the groundbreaking ceremony of a plant manufacturing nitrogen fertilizer urea in Sumgayit.

The head of state reviewed the stands describing the layout and technical parameters of the plant and its appearance after it is commissioned.

The President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, Rovnag Abdullayev, informed the President that the plant would be built on an area of 24 hectares and that its construction would be completed in 2014. The plant’s production capacity will be 1,200 tons of ammonia and 2,000 tons of urea per day.

It was noted that the plant would operate units for the production of ammonia, urea liquid and commodity urea. The plant’s commercial products will include ammonia and urea.

It was mentioned that 3,000 people would be provided with jobs during the construction and 500 after the plant is put into operation.

The head of state gave instructions and recommendations to specialists of the State Oil Company and construction workers.
