President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva have viewed the houses on Fikrat Amirov Street in the city of Tartar, which were destroyed by the Armenian army`s shelling on April 27-28.
Local resident Mubariz Hasanov`s house is among those destroyed. The head of state was informed that 256 houses, 4 schools, 2 medical centers, and 1 kindergarten were damaged, while 32 houses were completely destroyed as a result of the Armenians` atrocities in Tartar.
Home owner Mubariz Hasanov: In the early hours of 28 April, at about 2 am, the first shell landed in the yard of school No 6. I was at home at the time. I went behind the fence not to get hit by a splinter. Then a grenade landed. I went out to the road, and then the second shell hit our house.
President Ilham Aliyev: All necessary measures are being taken. Everything should be recorded and documented. We need to take photos and videos, and ascertain the damage caused. After that, we will take them to court. The Azerbaijani state will provide help. We will allocate funds. All these houses need to be rebuilt.
The house of Khasay Ibrahimov was also destroyed in the shelling by Armenian armed forces using large-caliber weapons, "Grad" systems, guns and tanks.
President Ilham Aliyev: All the houses will be restored. Let the executive authority do everything in its power now, while the government will allocate funds for the rest. We need to start the work immediately after the inventory.
Head of the district executive authority Mustagim Mammadov: Mr. President, the basements of all apartment buildings in the city have been cleaned up, plumbing, electrical and telephone lines have been installed. People are using that.
