An Olympic-Sports Complex was inaugurated in Tovuz.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the ceremony.
The foundation of the complex was laid down on May 30, 2007, with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev.
Minister of Youth and Sport Azda Rahimov informed the President that the complex, built by the order of the ministry, has 3 corps. There is a pool and a canteen in the first building of the complex, built over an area of 5 hectares, on the left bank of Tovuz river, at the entrance to the city of Tovuz. The second building features a 5-storey hotel, consisting of 34 double rooms and one VIP lounge. The third building consists of the main gym. Aside from these facilities, there is a hall and auxiliary rooms in the sports complex. Volleyball, basketball playgrounds, tennis court and a stadium is planned to be built in the area of the complex. The construction is expected to be completed in the near future.
President Ilham Aliyev viewed the conditions created in and around the complex, and gave instructions and recommendations.
