Dear Mr. President,

I congratulate you and the people of Azerbaijan on your reelection as President. Your convincing victory is also the victory of the people of Azerbaijan and its allies such as the United States. This election is yet another important step towards development of democracy in Azerbaijan.

The USA and Azerbaijan have a strong partnership based on common strategic interests. Our countries have worked together to prevent the spread of extremism, promote tolerance and progress in the world. We appreciate Azerbaijan’s valuable support of the United States in peacekeeping operations and the issue of energy security of Europe.

The USA and Azerbaijan have common values on many issues such as diversity, tolerance, respect for ethnic minorities and gender rights.

We confirm that these fundamental values , which form the foundation of any democratic system, have deep roots in Azerbaijani society.
