Dear Mr. President,

I am glad to convey to you my congratulations on your reelection as President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The victory you have won in the first round by winning the vast majority of the votes is a clear indication of people's faith in you.

I am sure that your broad political experience will prove successful in a new stage of reforms in your country.

In 2014, Azerbaijan will chair the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe for the first time in its history. This is an excellent opportunity for consolidating respect for the standards and values of our organization on the entire European continent and to give an impetus to the implementation of reforms in your country in the future.

I am convinced that your reelection as President of the Republic of Azerbaijan will contribute to the strengthening of our organization and values. The Council of Europe and its Parliamentary Assembly fully support Azerbaijan in the fulfilment of its obligations and responsibilities. I am confident that we will witness even better results in the near future. We look forward to your visit to Strasbourg to address, in accordance with our tradition, the Assembly at one of its sessions in 2014 over Azerbaijan’s presidency of the Committee of Ministers.
