Ilham Aliyev reviewed the reconstruction of the Lankaran City Central Hospital

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has reviewed the reconstruction of the Lankaran City Central Hospital.
Minister of Health Ogtay Shiraliyev informed the President about the reconstruction carried out. It was noted that the hospital was built in 1983 and had not been repaired ever since. A total of 3 million manats were allocated from the Contingency Fund of the President of Azerbaijan for the reconstruction of the Lankaran City Central Hospital in 2012 and a further 8 million manats in 2013. The reconstruction of the hospital, which covers an area of 5 hectares, was launched in August 2012 and was completed in August of this year. This building of the health facility is magnificent and is noted for a variety of medical services. The complex includes surgical, outpatient, narcological and therapeutic units, a unit for infectious diseases, an office building and a kitchen. The 13 departments of the hospital can provide examination and treatment of various diseases. The surgical, therapeutic, pediatric, gynecological departments, the department of infectious diseases, anesthesiology, intensive care, radiology, physical therapy units, the admission office, the advisory clinic, the perinatal center, the clinical laboratory, and the ambulance units are fitted with the latest equipment and appliances.
It was noted that the entire infrastructure of the hospital had been completely replaced. To ensure a continuous power supply, a 10-kilovolt transformer station and a diesel generator have been installed. A new boiler house, a reservoir and a pump station have been set up, and a parking lot established. The hospital will employ 1,900 health workers, including 327 doctors and 964 nursing staff.
After reviewing the hospital, President Ilham Aliyev gave instructions and recommendations on the provision of quality services.
