Ilham Aliyev reviewed major repairs and reconstruction of local roads in the Mashtaga settlement of Baku

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has reviewed major repairs and reconstruction of local roads in the Mashtaga settlement of Baku.
Consistent measures have been taken on the instruction of the head of state to accelerate the socioeconomic development of Baku and suburban settlements and upgrade the road and transport infrastructure in the capital.
The State Program covering the years 2011-2013, which is a continuation of the "Program of measures to accelerate the socioeconomic development of Baku and suburban settlements for 2006-2007", approved by an Order of the President of Azerbaijan, envisages further modernization of the road infrastructure. The construction of roads, flyovers, bridges, tunnels, underground and overhead pedestrian crossings is under way in Baku and suburban settlements of the capital.
Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov informed the President about the work done and future activities. It was noted that, as is the case in other suburban settlements of Baku, local roads in Mashtaga have been reconstructed and measures taken to improve the social conditions of the population. It was indicated that the road covering an area of 72,500 square meters has been asphalted, while the edges of the road and surrounding areas landscaped. About 100 new lighting poles and a modern lighting system have been installed on the sides of local roads.
The President of Azerbaijan was informed that the work on the overhaul of local roads was still under way.
After reviewing the work done, the President met with the residents of the settlement.
Resident of Mashtaga Huseyngulu Alasgarov thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the work done on behalf of the local community.
President Ilham Aliyev noted that the implementation of infrastructure projects in Baku and suburban settlements would be continued.
