Ilham Aliyev received the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran

President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Iran, Special Envoy of the President for Caspian Affairs, Mohammad Mehdi Akhundzadeh.
President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Mohammad Mehdi Akhundzadeh on his new appointment. The President expressed hope that the successful development of bilateral relations between the two states in various fields would contribute positively to resolution of Caspian-related issues. Touching upon the summit of the Caspian littoral states to be held in Baku, President Ilham Aliyev expressed assurance that its results would be positive.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Islam Republic and Special Envoy of the President for Caspian Affairs, Mohammad Mehdi Akhundzadeh, in turn, extended the greetings of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Iranian people to the Azerbaijani leader. He said he was honored to make his first visit to Azerbaijan after the appointment.
The President expressed his gratitude for the greetings of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad and asked to extend his greetings to Iranian leader as well.
