President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Defense Minister of Iran Ahmad Vahidi.

President Ilham Aliyev noted that intensive reciprocal visits between the two countries demonstrate the comprehensiveness of cooperation. The President underlined development of bilateral cooperation in the military and other fields. Ilham Aliyev expressed hope that Ahmad Vahidi`s visit to Azerbaijan would be successful.

Defense minister Ahmad Vahidi conveyed President of Iran Islam Republic, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad`s greetings to the Azerbaijani leader. He said the Iranian leader had great respect for the Azerbaijani President. Hailing the good level of political cooperation between the two countries, Ahmad Vahidi pointed out that the mutual visits had intensified recently and characterized this tendency as an indicator of development of bilateral relationship.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings of President of Iran Islam Republic Mahmoud Ahmednijad and asked the minister to extend his greetings to the Iranian leader as well.
