President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
The head of state expressed his satisfaction with the development of active cooperation between Azerbaijan and Romania.
Noting that our countries have strong bilateral relations, President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of identifying opportunities for effective cooperation in the private sector, as well as the expansion of ties in the fields of economy, investment and other areas. The President expressed his hope that the visit of Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta to Azerbaijan would create a good opportunity for the discussion of ways of further expanding the successfully developing relations.
Pointing to the high level of political relations between the two countries, Prime Minister of Romania Victor Ponta said that his country would continue to be one of the closest friends of Azerbaijan in the European Union. Recalling with satisfaction the visits of President of Azerbaijan to Romania and of the Romanian President to Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister noted the importance of both political and economic ties in the further strengthening of bilateral relations.
The sides exchanged views on the implementation of joint projects, energy cooperation and other issues.
