President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed the Upland Park after reconstruction.
The President took a funicular ride to the Upland Park.
It was noted that as a result of the reconstruction of the Upland Park the residents and visitors of the capital have received yet another recreation center. This park commands a beautiful panorama of the capital and the Baku Bay. It was this idea that was taken into account in the preparation of the master plan of Baku in the 1930s. It was stipulated back then that the Upland Park to be created here would be important in the overall architectural composition of the capital city. For many years this park was one of the favorite holiday destinations for the residents and visitors of Baku.
It was reported that work on the reconstruction and landscaping of Baku was well under way. As a result, the city is becoming ever more beautiful. In this regard, the decision was made to reconstruct the Upland Park, which is located at the highest part of Baku. After the reconstruction, which started last year, the park has assumed a different appearance that is pleasing to the eye. Authors of the project have skillfully used the variety of the local terrain. Thanks to the work done and the favorable location of tiers, the park now commands breathtaking views of the Baku Bay. President Ilham Aliyev has always kept the process of reconstruction in focus, reviewed the progress of work in-situ and gave relevant instructions. The alleys and terraces are connected with each other by staircases, while platforms offer beautiful views of the Caspian Sea. The funicular connects the Azneft Square with the Upland Park. Now this park has become one of the most beautiful holiday destinations in the capital.
It was indicated that the overhaul has been carried out at the highest level and the park fully reconstructed. The Upland Park, renovated in accordance with the President’s instructions on major overhaul and reconstruction of parks and alleys in Baku, is primarily intended for the recreation of the residents and visitors of Baku. The park has been reconstructed in line with modern requirements and imparts special beauty to this part of the capital. There are new roads and paths here. The park now has a waterfall complex. The park has been landscaped, as old trees have been preserved and ornamental trees planted. A modern lighting system makes the park even more beautiful.
President Ilham Aliyev was also familiarized with the building of the Museum of Independence set up at the Upland Park.
On 2 August 2011, the President of Azerbaijan signed a decree on measures to be taken for the construction of the Museum of Independence in Baku. The work carried out in this direction was always in the focus of attention of President Ilham Aliyev.
Then, President Ilham Aliyev watched the panorama of Baku from the Upland Park.
It was noted that the café established at the Upland Park would provide customers with high-level services. The top floor of the building commands a beautiful view of Baku and the Caspian Sea. The opening of such recreation areas demonstrates again that the image of Baku is changing day by day and the scale of social infrastructure projects carried out in the capital is expanding.
The head of state enquired about the café and admired the panorama of the surrounding area from there.
