President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Titus Corlatean.
The President stressed that bilateral relations between Romania and Azerbaijan were developing successfully.
Noting that there was a solid legal framework for the further expansion of cooperation, President Ilham Aliyev underlined the importance of the document on strategic partnership signed by the two countries. The President said that the relations between the two countries and peoples were those of true friendship and strategic partnership. He expressed his hope that these relations would become even stronger in the future. President Ilham Aliyev also expressed his confidence that the visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Titus Corlatean to Azerbaijan would provide a good opportunity to discuss issues relating to the prospects of bilateral and regional cooperation.
Titus Corlatean conveyed the greetings on behaf of President Traian Basescu and Prime Minister Victor Ponta to the President of Azerbaijan. He said that his country was interested in a further expansion of bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan in all spheres.
The sides exchanged views on a further expansion of ties between the two countries in the fields of economy, energy, cooperation within the framework of the European Union and other areas.
The head of state expressed his gratitude for the greetings from President Traian Basescu and Prime Minister Victor Ponta and asked the minister to communicate his greetings to the President and Prime Minister of Romania.
