President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the Permanent Under-Secretary and Head of the Diplomatic Service of the Ministry of Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom, Simon Fraser.

The sides expressed their satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Great Britain in various areas, noted the importance of cooperation in the energy sector, stressed the long-term successful operation of BP in Azerbaijan and gave a positive assessment to the oil industry transparency.

The parties also exchanged views on the prospects for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union, the fruitful cooperation between the two countries in the field of security within the Euro-Atlantic structures and other issues of mutual interest.
