President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed progress of construction of a mosque in the Binagadi district of Baku.
The restoration and conservation of material culture in our country are always in the focus of the President’s attention. The orders on the restoration of ancient monuments and temples signed by President Ilham Aliyev in the past few years are evidence of the reverent attitude towards religious and spiritual values. The Tazapir, Ajdarbay mosques and other religious and historical monuments have been renovated and handed over to the believers in Baku on orders of the President. Work on the restoration of mosques and other religious and historical monuments is well under way in all regions of Azerbaijan.
In accordance with the President’s instructions, construction of a new mosque has started in the Binagadi district of Baku.
President Ilham Aliyev has visited the construction site to examine progress of work.
Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov informed the President about the construction project using the master plan. It was noted that according to the project, the total area of the new mosque will be 4,000 square meters. The height of each of the four minarets will be 72 meters, of the main dome 55 meters and of the second dome 35 meters. The façade of the mosque will be lined with special stones in the style of the Shirvan-Absheron architecture. Marble and wood will be used in the finishing work inside the complex. Parking for 80 cars will be established in the courtyard of the mosque.
