As part of a visit to Gusar District, President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the “Gaya” hotel which is part of the Shahdag winter and summer tourist center.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev informed President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva that the three-storey hotel has a special car park. The hotel will have 26 rooms, as well as a restaurant and a fitness center.
The excellent facilities of the hotel further enhance the value of the Shahdag winter and summer tourist center. On the other hand, they demonstrate the scale of the work carried out at the center.
It was noted that the next stages of the project envisage the laying of new cableways, construction of a golf course, various clubs, small hotels, a guest house, the Shahdag youth center, other hotels and a horse farm.
It was indicated that the first stage of construction of the Shahdag winter and summer tourist center is financed by the state. Control over construction is exercised by the directorate of the Shahdag winter and summer tourist center under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Private sector is expected to contribute extensively to the next stage of construction.

It was noted that the hotel, covering a large area, will be well suited for the recreation of tourists. It will have 173 rooms, including eight suites and three VIP rooms. The hotel will also operate eight restaurants and three meeting rooms.
It was indicated that in addition to the SPA-center covering an area of 1,825 square meters, the hotel will have fitness and massage rooms and Turkish baths. Construction is 70 per cent through.
The President gave instructions and recommendations on the measures to be taken at the next stage.
