President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the governor of Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Zhilkin.
The President stressed that the relations between Azerbaijan and the constituent parts of the Russian Federation, including Astrakhan Region, are successfully developing. He noted the importance of these relationships in terms of a further expansion of bilateral relations between the two countries. Remembering with satisfaction his visit to Astrakhan and participation in a ceremony to unveil a statue of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev, President Aliyev said that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Astrakhan Region had expanded further in recent years.
The Governor of Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation, Aleksandr Zhilkin, expressed his satisfaction with the growth of trade and the dynamic development of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Astrakhan Region. Expressing his gratitude for the humanitarian projects implemented by Azerbaijan in Astrakhan Region, the Governor noted the importance of an environmental project carried out in the region on the initiative of the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva.
