President Ilham Aliyev has attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the Balakhani industrial park.
Construction workers warmly welcomed the head of state.
The President of Azerbaijan reviewed the stand describing the draft industrial park and its layout. Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev said the objective of the park was to expand the production of competitive industrial products based on high technology, achieve sustainable development of the non-oil sector, provide employment opportunities in the manufacturing sector and improve the environmental situation in and around Baku.
The industrial park is expected to recycle plastic waste, tires, electrical and electronic devices, batteries, non-ferrous metals, cables and other waste. The proximity of the park, which will cover an area of seven hectares, to a transport hub will facilitate the delivery of recycled or manufactured products to the market. Creating favorable conditions for entrepreneurs and investors in the field of recycling, the Balakhani industrial park will also play an important role
in the country’s recycling industry.
The head of state laid the foundation of the industrial park.
The President of Azerbaijan was also informed about a water-supply project in the Balakhani settlement. It was noted that according to an agreement on the construction of a plant for solid waste management and as part of the social projects carried out in Balakhani, a project to create a network of water supply will be implemented.
The water line to be built will be more than 80 kilometers long, which will greatly improve water supply in Balakhani. The plan is to complete the installation of the new water line within one year.
The head of state gave relevant instructions and recommendations.
