President Ilham Aliyev has attended a ceremony to open Horadiz secondary school No 3 for 240 pupils.
The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the school.
While reviewing the new educational institution, the head of state was informed that the construction of the school, built on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, began in September 2011. The total area of the two-storey building is 3,170 square meters. The school has an adjacent plot of 1.5 hectares, which has been covered with 2,600 square meters of tiles. A green area has been set up, 150 ornamental trees planted and modern lighting and irrigation systems installed.
In the lobby of the school, there are photo stands the reflecting care and attention of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to the development of education. The building has a modern ventilation system. On the first floor, there are 10 classrooms fully equipped with the necessary aids and supplies, a cafeteria, a canteen, a high-speed Internet center and a gym. The gym is fully suited for playing volleyball, basketball, mini-football, wrestling and other sports.
In the lobby on the second floor, there is a bust of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev. There are also photos describing the life and activities of great leader Heydar Aliyev and Academician Zarifa Aliyeva. There is also a 130-seat auditorium, laboratories and 12 classrooms on this floor. The conditions created at the new school will raise the learning process to a higher level.
