Ilham Aliyev received credentials of incoming ambassador of Yemen

On December 3, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of Mohammed Saleh Ahmed Turaik, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Yemen.
The ambassador presented his credentials to the head of state.
President Ilham Aliyev had a conversation with him.
The Azerbaijani President recalled his meeting with the Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen during COP29, noting that it marked the first high-level interaction in the history of bilateral relations. He emphasized the importance of implementing the key issues discussed during that meeting.
President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the need for continued mutual support on the international stage and encouraged the exploration of economic opportunities, including trade, investment, and other areas of cooperation.
The ambassador conveyed warm greetings from Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen, along with his wishes for new successes and prosperity for the Azerbaijani people. He also extended the greetings of the Yemeni people to Azerbaijan. In response, President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for these kind words and asked the ambassador to relay his regards to the Yemeni President.
Ambassador Turaik expressed Yemen’s gratitude for Azerbaijan’s support within international organizations, stating that Yemen highly appreciates the solidarity shown by Azerbaijan.
He also congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on the successful organization of COP29, emphasizing that the event showcased the President’s wise leadership and Azerbaijan’s strength on the global stage.
The ambassador extended his congratulations on the liberation of Azerbaijani territories and fondly recalled his recent visit to Karabakh, describing it as an honor. He expressed admiration for the restoration and reconstruction efforts in Karabakh, commending the rapid development of cities, transportation hubs, and tunnels, which he viewed as a testament to Azerbaijan’s strength under President Aliyev’s leadership.
Ambassador Turaik affirmed Yemen’s unwavering support for Azerbaijan and pledged to spare no effort in strengthening the ties between the two brotherly countries. He also expressed Yemen’s keen interest in economic cooperation, proposing the organization of a visit by Yemeni businesspeople to Azerbaijan to explore opportunities.
The ambassador noted the historical connection between the two countries, recalling that many Yemeni students studied in Azerbaijan during the Soviet era and later contributed to Yemen’s development in various sectors. He emphasized the importance of continuing this tradition and fostering educational exchanges.
During the conversation, both sides highlighted the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Yemen within international organizations. They also stressed the importance of exploring opportunities for collaboration in fields such as economy, trade, education, healthcare, culture, and more.
