President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed Lyceum No 70 in the Nizami district of Baku after major overhaul.
The ceremony was also joined by First Lady and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva.
The President and his wife were informed that Lyceum No 70 has been in operation since 1967 and had never been renovated since then. Major overhaul and reconstruction of the lyceum have been carried out in accordance with the state program on the socioeconomic development of suburban settlements of Baku.
It was noted that all the classrooms and subject-specific rooms have been renovated to the highest standards. The institution is fitted with modern equipment and visual aids. In order to eliminate the overcrowding and multi-shift system of education, an additional building with 42 classrooms for 840 pupils has been constructed. Classes in the new academic year will be held in one shift.
President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva reviewed the lyceum.
It was indicated that the school’s heating and lighting systems have been fully reconstructed. The lyceum has a continuous supply of hot and cold water. The area around the school has been landscaped and an area of 1,300 square meters paved.
Expressing his satisfaction with the overhaul and reconstruction, the President gave his instructions and recommendations.
