President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation of the Netherlands Maxime Verhagen.
Maxime Verhagen expressed his satisfaction with the visit to Azerbaijan. Indicating that since the launch of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Baku progress was observed in the development of bilateral relations, Maxime Verhagen expressed his hope for a further expansion of these relations in the years ahead. He expressed his confidence that the visit to Azerbaijan would strengthen bilateral relations between our countries.
President Ilham Aliyev stressed that the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands in various areas, including political, economic, transport and other areas, was quite satisfactory. The President pointed to a mutual interest in expanding these ties. Underscoring the importance of visits at various levels for the expansion of bilateral relations, the President of Azerbaijan said there were good opportunities for establishing strong partnerships between our countries.
The sides pointed to the broad and successful activities of Dutch companies in Azerbaijan, discussed prospects of cooperation in the oil and gas sector, transport, infrastructure and investment in other areas. The parties also exchanged views on the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
