President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the Vice-President of Iran and head of the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization of Iran, Sayed Hasan Mousavi.

Stressing that cultural ties are of great importance to the development of bilateral relations, President Ilham Aliyev noted the importance of the conference “Taste of the Silk Road: cooking, culture and tourism” due to be held in Baku. The President expressed his confidence that bilateral relations between our countries would successfully develop in the future.

Seyed Hasan Mousavi said he was pleased to visit Azerbaijan and meet with President Ilham Aliyev. Seyed Hasan Mousavi passed on greetings and a message from President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He said his visit to Azerbaijan was a good opportunity to discuss issues related to the further development of bilateral relations.

The sides exchanged views on issues relating to the current status and further development of the friendly relations, good neighborliness and close cooperation between the two peoples and states and agreed that these are fundamental principles of bilateral relations.

The head of state expressed his gratitude for the greetings from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and asked the Vice-President to communicate his greetings to the President of Iran.
