Ilham Aliyev made a phone call to President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan

On April 7, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made a phone call to President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
During the phone conversation, the sides discussed the trilateral meeting between the European Union, Azerbaijan and Armenia held in Brussels on April 6 at the initiative and with the participation of the President of the European Council Charles Michel.
President Ilham Aliyev noted that his assessment of the outcome of the meeting was positive.
The head of state emphasized the decisions to establish a working group between Azerbaijan and Armenia to prepare a peace agreement with basic principles presented by Azerbaijan at its core, including mutual recognition of territorial integrity and renunciation of territorial claims, and to set up a commission on the delimitation of borders.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed satisfaction with the results achieved.
During the conversation, the sides noted that the signing of a peace agreement and creation of transport and communication links between Armenia and Azerbaijan would contribute to ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region and the development and prosperity of the regional countries.
The presidents also exchanged views on various aspects of bilateral allied relations between Azerbaijan and Turkiye.
