The opening of a new building of secondary school No 85 named after R. Abdinov has been held in the Yeni Surakhani settlement of the Surakhani district of Baku.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony.
When the President was reviewing the work carried out in the Surakhani district of the capital to accelerate the socioeconomic development of the suburban settlements of Baku, residents of the Yeni Surakhani settlement said that one building of secondary school No 85 was totally unusable and asked for help in its reconstruction.
President Aliyev gave an instruction right on the spot to construct a new school building. In July 2011, the head of state and the school staff attended a groundbreaking ceremony of a new school building. The construction of a new three-storey building, which consists of 27 rooms, was completed in a short time and in line with modern requirements.
The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the school building.
Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov informed President Aliyev about the work done. A total of 480 pupils will study at new building.
It was noted that school No 85, which consists of three buildings, provides education to 840 pupils. In the lobby of the building, the President reviewed the photos describing the activities of great leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev in the field of education. It was stressed that the school has all the conditions for proper education. President Aliyev reviewed classrooms and subject-specific rooms.
It was indicated that the classrooms of physics, chemistry and other subjects, as well as the laboratory, were fitted with modern training equipment. By the start of the new academic year, sports and assembly halls and a canteen are to be built on the premises. It was also noted that the school will also have an outdoor playground.
After reviewing the new building of school No 85, the President gave appropriate instructions.
