Ilham Aliyev received the former and the new World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus

President Ilham Aliyev has received the former World Bank Regional Director for South Caucasus, Asad Alam, and the newly-appointed Regional Director, Henry Kerali.
The President thanked the former World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus, Asad Alam, for his contribution to the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the World Bank. Stressing that important work was carried out with the support of the World Bank in the early years of our independence, President Ilham Aliyev said noted good prospects and many plans relating to a further development of Azerbaijan. The President pointed to good opportunities for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank in various fields, including agriculture, health care, renewable energy, etc.
Asad Alam said he was proud to have worked in Azerbaijan. He noted the importance of the contribution made by President Ilham Aliyev to the strengthening of cooperation between the World Bank and Azerbaijan.
The new World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus, Henry Kerali, said he would do his best to further expand cooperation between his organization and Azerbaijan.
