President Ilham Aliyev has received Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.
Saying that Azerbaijani-Bulgarian bilateral relations in various areas, including economic, are on an upward trend, President Aliyev noted that the level of trade between our countries was encouraging. The President pointed to the importance of Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov’s visit to Azerbaijan for identifying new areas of bilateral cooperation and expressed confidence that the visit would be successful.
Stressing that Bulgaria and Azerbaijan share good traditions of cooperation, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov noted the presence of great opportunities for the expansion of ties. Then the meeting continued with the participation of delegations.
President Ilham Aliyev said the visit by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov to Azerbaijan with a large delegation was very important. The head of state said Azerbaijan was interested in further expanding bilateral relations with Bulgaria by means of specific projects. Referring to relations in the economic sphere, President Aliyev said there was a good potential for expanding cooperation in the energy sector and stressed the importance of cooperation in the fields of transport, tourism, ICT, agriculture, etc. The President expressed his confidence that the visit by the Bulgarian Prime Minister would contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Boyko Borisov expressed his hope that the issues discussed would further enhance the relations between the two peoples and countries. He stressed the importance of mutual visits by heads of relevant agencies for addressing issues of cooperation in various sectors.
Then President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov had lunch together.
