President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the director general of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, Jose Graziano da Silva.

Expressing his satisfaction with the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, President Ilham Aliyev described the fact that the organization’s 28th regional conference is being held in Baku is a good indication of this cooperation. The President also expressed his confidence that the conference would be successful and the delegation would have a good opportunity to get to know Azerbaijan better.

The director general of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, Jose Graziano da Silva, said 46 out of more than 50 regional countries were represented with high-level delegations, which attests to the great interest in the conference. He said one of the key objectives of the conference was to identify agricultural development priorities. The director general indicated that ministers would also discuss issues pertaining to food security at a round-table section of the conference.

Jose Graziano da Silva congratulated the President on Azerbaijan’s election to the UN Security Council.
