President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening ceremonies of the “Ganjlik” substation, the Training Center and the “Icharishahar” substation of the “Bakielektrikshabaka” OJSC.
The Chairman of the Board of the “Bakielektrikshabaka” OJSC, Baba Rzayev, informed the President of Azerbaijan about the newly-built “Ganjlik” substation. It was indicated that thanks to the attention and care of President Ilham Aliyev, consistent measures have been taken to further improve electricity supply of the capital and its suburban settlements. As a result of the measures, “Bakielektrikshabaka” has switched to the ring buses. In addition to enhancing the reliability and sustainability of the distribution and transmission networks, the application of the ring buses also increases efficiency. One of the key advantages of this system is the possibility to fully supply consumers with electricity at any time. As a result of the consistent and goal-oriented activities carried out in recent years, “Bakielektrikshabaka” has succeeded in establishing the ring buses.
The “Ganjlik” substation will supply electricity to a number of nearby facilities and is part of the double-beam 110-kilovolt “Baku-II” ring bus between the “Sangachal” and “Khirdalan” system substations. It was noted that the 35/10-kilovolt “Ganjlik” substation, designed to improve electricity supply of the Ganjlik Square and adjacent enterprises, represents exceptional importance for the distribution network. It is particularly important to expanding the network of substations and ensuring uninterrupted and quality power supply to various facilities. Serving as a source of power supply for adjacent facilities and enterprises, “Ganjlik” is connected to substations No 215 and 96 by electric coupling of 35-kilovolts, which will enhance the reliability of the tie station and contribute to the creation of a 35-kilovolt ring bus. The area around the substation has been refurbished and landscaped and trees planted.
President Ilham Aliyev also examined the Training Center of the “Bakielektrikshabaka” OJSC. On the first floor of the Center, the President reviewed photos describing the measures of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to develop the country’s power engineering sector. Then, President Ilham Aliyev examined the technical equipment on the Center’s second floor. There are two 10/04-kilovolt substations, trials of protection relays, automatic electrical equipment and cable lines, sections of the SCADA control system, classrooms on alternative and renewable sources of energy and a conference hall on this floor. It was indicated that the Training Center has been equipped with the latest technologies.
During training, network control is carried out by an automated system. The President engaged the 110-kilovolt remote controlled sulfur hexafluoride circuit breaker.
Then the President watched a slide show of 110- and 35-kilovolt substations newly built by “Bakielektrikshabaka” OJSC. It was indicated that 110-kilovolt ring buses had been created in Baku for the first time.
The classrooms of the Training Center are fitted with modern visual aids, equipment and computer technologies. It was indicated that employees of the company would be trained in to operating equipment to ensure electricity supply in line with contemporary international standards. Specialists from developed countries and local experts will be involved in the training. Besides company employees, the Center will also provide advanced training to university graduates. Those completing the course will be provided with relevant certificates.
After reviewing the Training Center of “Bakielektrikshabaka” OJSC, President Ilham Aliyev also examined the mobile electro-technical laboratory for diagnosing and testing high-voltage cables.
Then the President attended the opening of the “Icharishahar” substation. The head of state was informed about the substation. It was indicated that the “Icharishahar” substation is part of the double-beam 110-kilovolt “Baku-I” ring bus between the “Mushfig” and “Khirdalan” system substations. “Icharishahar” is a substation with hexafluorated sulfur insulation installed by Siemens. In addition to supplying electricity to central parts of the city, adjacent facilities and residential settlements, “Icharishahar” is also a successfully operating power station that is technically important to creating ring buses. The networks supplied by the 35- and 6-kilovolt buses of the substation are connected to the networks of other tie stations, thus creating a reliable and sustainable network.
All the electrical equipment, protection relays and automatic units of the substation are connected to the remote controlled and user-friendly SCADA system. To ensure the safety of electrical equipment and materials of the substation in the event of fire and explosion, a fire alarm system has been installed.
The head of state switched on the 40-megawatt transformer. After reviewing the station, President Ilham Aliyev issued relevant instructions.
