Ilham Aliyev received German Foreign Minister

President Ilham Aliyev has received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Guido Westerwelle.
Emphasizing that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Germany cover broad areas and that there is fruitful cooperation, the President expressed confidence that the visit by Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle to Azerbaijan would serve to further strengthen this partnership.
German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle informed President Ilham Aliyev of the meetings he had held in Azerbaijan.
Indicating that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the minister pointed to Azerbaijan’s election as a member of the UN Security Council and to the importance of cooperation within this framework.
The sides also exchanged views on the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, energy cooperation and other issues.
