President Ilham Aliyev has received the French Minister of Transport, Thierry Mariani, and Advisor to the French President on Diplomatic Affairs, Damien Loras.

Transport Minister Thierry Mariani passed on a message from French President Nicolas Sarkozy to the President of Azerbaijan. The French visitor expressed his confidence that the relations of partnership between France and Azerbaijan would continue to expand in the future.

The President expressed his gratitude for the sincere thoughts about the development of bilateral relations contained in French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s letter and voiced his confidence that bilateral relations would continue to grow.

President Aliyev expressed hope that the law penalizing the denial of the “Armenian genocide” would not come into force.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and France, regional and international matters.
