President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has studied to the course of reconstruction work carried out around the Mausoleum of Great Nizami in Ganja.
Head of State watched photo gallery related to the work done around the Mausoleum. It was reported that the reconstruction of the Mausoleum of the great thinker in Ganja is the integral part of the refurbishment and reconstruction work carried out in our country in recent years. In this case, the area of 7.540 square meters was paved with granite plates. Four basins and two fountains were constructed. Five buta elements are covered also with granite. One artificial lake and bridge have been repaired. The road that passes in from the Mausoleum has got its both sides renovated also. Greening lines were built in the area of 11 hectares. Decorative trees were plant here.
President of Azerbaijan was informed that the construction of the museum of this great poet has started in front of the Mausoleum.
The total area of two storied museum that will be dominated by historic and architectural styles of Azerbaijan is 540 square meters. The construction of this museum will be an important step made to study life and creative activities of Nizami Ganjavi and transmitting his legacy to future genrations.
President Ilham Aliyev laid the wreath of flowers to the tomb of Nizami Ganjavi.
Head of state gave his relevant instructions and recommendations.
Since long time, the Nizami heritage was in the center of attention of worldwide intellectual circles. The writings of the great poet in our country have published repeatedly in our country. A lot of work has been done to study and promote his literary heritage. Many research works have been written. For the first in the Nizami studies, scientific articles were prepared. The intensified character of these processes coincides mainly with the 800th anniversary of Nizami Ganjavi. The first decision to celebrate the jubilee of this great poet at the state level was taken in 1939. However, World War Two impeded this process and the anniversary was celebrated only in 1947. During those years, the magnificent Mausoleum of the great philosopher and the poet Nizami was built in Ganja in the place of his burial. Several measures have been undertaken to commemorate his eternal memory. In the years of 70-ies, the decision taken on the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev “On Measures to study heritage of Nizami Ganjavi - the great poet and thinker of Azerbaijan and improve its publication and promotion” has defined a complex set of measures and opened up wide opportunities to study systematically the Nizami heritage and the medieval Azerbaijani culture in general.
It is important to note the decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev last December on celebrating the 870th anniversary of Nizami Ganjavi. Indeed, this decree has stimulated widely the studying of Nizami heritage and became an important step to immortalize the memory of the poet.
