Ilham Aliyev reviewed progress of construction of a new air terminal at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport

President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed progress of construction of a new air terminal at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, major overhaul and reconstruction of the façade of the existing air terminal building, and examined new EVROCOPTER EC-135 helicopters brought to Azerbaijan.
The president of the “Azerbaijan Airlines” Closed Joint-Stock Company, Jahangir Asgarov, informed the President about the work done. It was indicated that the implementation of a new air terminal project would improve the services related to passenger and cargo carriage and bring the level of flight safety to global standards. Along with the construction of a new air terminal, major overhaul and reconstruction of the façade of the existing air terminal building is under way. The head of state reviewed the ongoing reconstruction. It was noted that the façade of the existing building would be renovated and coated in accordance with the latest standards. President Aliyev gave relevant instructions on building the air terminal of the international airport and completing the restoration and reconstruction of the existing building with high quality.
Then the President examined new ambulance helicopters EVROCOPTER EC-135. The president of the “Azerbaijan Airlines” Closed Joint-Stock Company, Jahangir Asgarov, informed President Aliyev about their technical characteristics. It was noted that the new helicopters, to be used in emergency rescue operations, are fitted with the state-of-the-art emergency medical equipment. The helicopters can easily take off and land in any geographical conditions. In particular, they can land on water. During an emergency at sea, the helicopters, by easily landing on water, can carry out necessary measures to provide emergency medical care and rescue. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev reviewed the ambulance helicopters in detail.
