President Ilham Aliyev received Chief Executive Officer of BP, Tony Hayward.

The President emphasized the successful and longstanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and BP and expressed his confidence in future expansion of this cooperation.

Tony Hayward also stressed BP’s successful cooperation with the Azerbaijani government and the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan and noted the importance of the “Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli” and “Shahdeniz” oil and gas projects, as well as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and South Caucasus pipeline projects for Azerbaijan, region and global energy markets.

During the meeting, full-scale operation of the “Shahdeniz” field was noted as one of the significant projects for Azerbaijan and BP.

During the talks, the sides exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
