Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov informed the President that the construction of the main stadium, the training base and the office building of the Gabala football academy is carried out in a comprehensive manner. A land plot of seven hectares has been allocated. The construction of a 15,000-seat main stadium will be carried out in line with the highest standards. At present, the club plays its home games at a 4,000-seat stadium. Along with the main stadium under construction, the complex will have six additional stadiums. Five will have a natural grass surface, while one will have artificial turf. Four stadiums have already been commissioned.
President Aliyev was also informed about the construction of a new building for the Gabala football academy. It was noted that the academy, scheduled for commissioning in 18 months, will have pitches with natural and artificial turf, a cafeteria, a lounge and utility rooms. In parallel with the construction, a group of children has been selected for junior sections of Gabala FC. Currently, around 200 children are training at the Academy. The process of selection currently covers Gabala District, but it will be conducted in other all districts in the future.
The President gave recommendations and instructions on completing the construction at a high level.
