The construction of two other granaries with a capacity of 5,000 tons each has started. It was indicated that this is the first such enterprise to be built in the South Caucasus. At the initial stage, the company intends to produce glucose, and then fructose and dextrose. These products will be used mainly in the production of confectionery, canned goods, dairy products, ice cream and lemonade. The enterprise has all the opportunities to meet the country’s needs for high-quality glucose and is of particular importance as a supplier of protein, gluten, bran and other products. The waste generated in the process of production will be sold to livestock breeders as feed.
It was indicated that raw materials will be provided by domestic producers too. Talks are under way with farmers from Zagatala, Shaki, Gakh and Oguz Districts to this effect. After an adequate resource base is formed in the future, the plan is to increase the processing capacity of the enterprise from 80 to 200 tons per day.
