President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of a Children and Youth Art Center in Agsu.
The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the building.
It was indicated that the foundation of the building was laid on 29 October 2009 in the presence of President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva. In the courtyard of the Center built at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, there is a section featuring exhibits about renowned people of art originally from Agsu – Mikayil Mirza, Samandar rzayev and Rasim Balayev.
Extensive landscaping work has been carried out around the Center, numerous trees and flower bushes planted and the necessary infrastructure created.
In the lobby of the Center there are photo stands reflecting the activities of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva.
During familiarization with the Center, the President was informed that tar, kamancha, piano and other music lessons would be taught here. All the classrooms and ancillary facilities are fitted with modern equipment. A room dedicated to a renowned representative of folk art, Ashug Shakir, has many interesting exhibits. The 80-seat assembly hall of the Center can host various activities.
President Ilham Aliyev listened to the “Azerbaijan” song by Rauf Hajiyev performed by students of the Agsu Music School.
