As part of a visit to Agdash District, President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of a 12-km section of the Agdash-Laki road.
The head of state reviewed the stands reflecting the technical and economic parameters of the road, its condition before and after repair.
Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov informed President Ilham Aliyev about the work carried out at the 12-km section of the Agdash-Laki road. It was noted that the road has been constructed in accordance with the “State program on the socioeconomic development of districts of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2009-2013” as part of the Action Plan approved by the Order of the President from 14 April 2009. The construction of the road has been commissioned by the Ministry of Transport and carried out by Azeryolservis OJSC.
It was indicated that the reconstructed Agdash-Laki road connects the 267th kilometer of the Baku-Alat-Gazakh-Georgian Border highway with the 238th kilometer of the Baku-Shamakhi-Yevlakh highway. Completely renovated, having a modern appearance and noted for high quality, this road will be instrumental in improving the transport links between the north-western, southern and south-western districts of the country.
It was mentioned that the width of the road, which has an asphalt concrete pavement, is 12 meters, while its two-lane traffic section is 7 meters wide. About 30,000 tons of asphalt mix has been used in the reconstruction. Restoration began in July and was completed in October this year. The new road meets modern requirements and has appropriate safety signs and equipment.
The President cut the ribbon marking the opening.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his satisfaction with the work done and gave relevant instructions and recommendations.
