President Ilham Aliyev has received family members of world famous Norwegian traveler and scientist Thor Heyerdahl.

Speaking on behalf of family members, the son of the renowned traveler, Thor Heyerdahl, recalled with satisfaction his father’s meetings with the nationwide leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev. He said he had always heard kind words about Azerbaijan from his father.

President Ilham Aliyev pointed to the importance of the great interest Thor Heyerdahl had in Azerbaijan and his thoughts about our country. The head of state said the visit of Thor Heyerdahl’s family to Azerbaijan provided a good opportunity for closer familiarization with Azerbaijan.
